About Me
Welcome, I am Mr. Gonzalez. Currently, I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics, both from the University of La Verne. After receiving my Bachelor Degrees from the University of La Verne I was on the career path to aim for an Engineering degree. From then, I worked at a Sylvan Learning Center in Corona, CA so I could save money for Engineering courses . At the Learning Center I learned that I love teaching students Mathematics and Science.
From then I went to the University of Southern California where I earned my Master's Degree in Education where I earned my Supplementary Teaching credential simultaneously (for Science).
In the photograph above, I participated in the STAR (Student Teachers and Researchers) program where I was tasked to learn about weather systems that generate tornadoes so I could determine why two tornadoes in Kansas occurred when they were not forecast. By far it was one of the best experiences of my life.
I have taught three years previously with my own classroom and I taught as a Long Term Substitute teacher before that. My Long Term Substitute Teacher position was at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in CNUSD from November 2017 until June 2018, I taught at Azusa High School in AUSD from 2018-2019, and I have taught here at Santa Rosa Academy until the present.
I look forward to this school year where we will build, solve and have fun with my Physics students. My goal this year is to an interactive, social environment where students can simultaneously learn the content and to develop scientific literacy and an environment where ALL students feel they have a growth mindset.
